Ensuring equitable access to high-quality education and summer learning programs is essential for fostering the holistic development of children and youth, enabling them to reach their fullest potential.
At United Way, we mobilize volunteers and organize a network of organizations to tutor elementary students in reading and math. We convene a network of youth organizations, providing professional development and coordinating collaboration. We create summer memories for kids by supporting a broad range of enriching summer programs. We donate books to classrooms and mobilize community volunteers to read aloud to students.
Our Efforts Include:
- New Haven Tutoring Initiative
- Greater New Haven Youth Network
- Summer Youth Programs
- Read Across America and other volunteer reading events
